This Optimistic Life
A self-experiment tool, not a habit tracker
Stop guessing.
Start measuring
yourself.
Design your own experiment. Pick what you want to change, how long you want to run it, and what you want to track. Then watch your own data tell you whether it's actually working. No streaks, no shame, no app yelling at you at 6am.

The problem
You're not lazy.
You're just flying blind.
You read the article. You tried the protocol. Maybe it helped. Maybe it didn't. A week in, you can't tell, because the "before" already feels fuzzy.
So you abandon it, try the next thing, and end up with a Notes app full of half-started habits and zero idea what's actually moving the needle.
It's not a discipline problem. It's a data problem.
Who this is for
For people who'd rather have evidence than vibes.
If you love data
You want a baseline.
Not a streak. Not a leaderboard. An honest before-and-after on the thing you actually care about, with the noise filtered out.
If you love improving
You want signal, not advice.
Stop bouncing between podcasts and protocols. Set up your own trial, isolate the variables that matter, find out what actually works for your body and your life.
If you're visual
You want to see the shift.
Soft, paper-style charts. Daily heat strips. Trendlines over your chosen window. Your data, drawn the way you'd sketch it in a notebook.
The Lab
Your protocol.
Your window.
Your data.
The Recalibration Lab is a quiet self-experiment tool. You design your own trial, log a handful of fields a day, and at the end of your window you get a clear read on what changed.

- 01
Pick what you're testing.
One variable is the cleanest experiment, but a full reset with a few changes is fair game too. You decide what you're after.
- 02
Set your window.
Anywhere from two weeks to ninety days. We recommend at least two, long enough for noise to cancel out.
- 03
Log the small stuff daily.
Sleep, mood, energy, anything you choose. Sixty seconds. No essays.
- 04
Read the trend.
At the end of your window the Lab shows you the line, not your latest mood. Then you decide: keep, tweak, or drop.

Why a window matters
Long enough for signal.
Short enough to finish.
A single day tells you nothing. A year feels impossible. Somewhere between two weeks and a few months is the sweet spot, long enough that random bad nights and great Tuesdays cancel each other out, short enough that you can actually commit.
The Lab averages, smooths, and draws the trend across your window. You see direction, not drama. Then you decide what's worth keeping.

"I've started and quit five 'morning routines' this year. The Lab is the first thing that gave me a flat 'yep, this one works' instead of vibes."
"I'm a spreadsheet person and this finally let me run myself like an A/B test without building one. Picking my own window is genius."
"I love that there's no streak. I missed two days and the Lab just… kept going. No guilt loop. The trendline still made sense."
"Honestly bought it expecting another habit tracker. It's not. It made me drop two protocols I'd been doing for months that were doing nothing."

Honest answers
Things people actually ask.
Is this a habit tracker?+
No. A tracker rewards you for showing up. The Lab tells you whether the thing is working. Different job.
Do I have to test just one thing at a time?+
One variable is the cleanest experiment, so you can attribute the change with confidence. But if you're running a full reset and changing a few things at once, that's allowed. Your Lab, your call.
How long does an experiment run?+
You choose, anywhere from two weeks to ninety days. We recommend at least two weeks so noise has a chance to cancel out.
What if I miss a day?+
You miss a day. The trendline still makes sense. There are no streaks to break.
How many experiments can I run?+
As many as you want, back to back or in parallel. Lifetime access means lifetime use.
Is the data mine?+
Yes. Export to CSV whenever you want. Delete your Lab and your data goes with it (after a 30-day grace period).
Why $37 once instead of a subscription?+
Because the Lab isn't something you need to pay for every month forever. Pay once, come back to it whenever you want to run a trial.
Run your experiment.
See what your data says.
A few weeks from now you'll have a clear answer instead of another half-finished protocol. That's the whole pitch.
